Somehow, I always end up in mud pits, must be the climate and my curiosity.
The boots also saved me from getting injured when my pack horse decided to step on my foot to show me what she though of me, and they're generally better suited for me since I usually carry a heavy pack cause I like to be self-reliant for several days in the wilderness on my trips.
In my experience, all the tourists we guide wear shoes, while all the guides wear boots.
