I think the big deciding factor is food. Are you keeping food with you? Or are you going out and eating at restaurants and diners.
Soup kitchens would be good too. If you're on the Run you aren't going into MEC or with your membership card and buying hiking rations, you're going to a gas station or something to buy a can of beans.
Hunting would be cool, but realistically it's hard to rely on hunting as a source of food.
