I found a West German messkit/ canteen for 8 bucks at a local Goodwill. Pretty much the same function as a Yugo messkit with the canteen nested inside a larger bottom half and smaller upper half for cooking.
Problem is the bottom has a bunch of straps that can only be removed by unscrewing a screw and the damn retards didn't even make any of the parts thin enough to use as a screwdriver. I'm guessing primary function was to eat from a chowhall or something like the USGI ones, except even worse at cooking.
