I modded my water bottle stove in an attempt to aim the flame jets more directly against the bottom of the boiling vessel. As you can see from this before and after photo, the results were successful. In it's original configuration, the flames came out horizontally and then curved upward. After being tweaked, the flames emerge at a 45 degree angle and do a much better job of impacting & transferring heat to the kettle.
