>>250090>>250084 hereokay, well that's just a little different than the scenario I made estimate for. I was thinking you might be spending more time near towns, stores and maybe buying occasional meals at convenience stores etc,.
so I am sure you my be able to keep your food budget below $20 if your basically talking about living out of your backpack inna woods most of the time eating a lot of ramen noodles and rice/beans.
I guess it depends on what kind of staples you have in mind.
when I think of freeze dried camp food I think of something like mountain house.
I know those things can go for around $5 a meal or so. so that's still $15/day just for 3 freeze dried backpacker meals breakfast lunch, dinner not including snacks, whatever.
I like the sound of what you are saying, foraging for food to supplement your meals but I think you could find it difficult to come up with enough to substantially offset your food budget.
either way I know you'll have fun. I think what your talking about doing is awesome and wouldn't want anyone to pass up the opportunity.
I wish I could do this, but im stuck inna job and commitments, life, etc...
been awhile since I was onna good backpacking trip
