>>345685You might try a drop shot. Something we developed for bass out here on the west coast. Tie a hook on with a Palomar knot (google it) with a long tag end, like 1-3 feet or however far off the bottom you want your lure/bait to sit. Then you tie a teardrop weight on the end of your line. The weight acts like an anchor for you bait, you can jig and twitch your bait without moving it away from one spot.
In your case you could tie the hook far enough up the line that your lure/worm sits just above the weeds and you avoid having to move it THROUGH the weeds.
