mostly REI poly/nylon stuff. the sahara series is not expensive, decent quality and performs well. unlike some of the more advanced stuff I'm not worried about damage since its not going to cost an arm and a leg to replace. And you WILL need to replace shirts and pants if you /out/ with any seriousness.
for cold weather usually wool, I have a pair of shirts I got ten years ago that I think are indestructible, they've been through hell and are still fine.
