Yesterday, I was fishing for pike in an oxbow. A local YouTuber was fishing there, so I tracked him down and went to the same spot. No luck in the pond, so I moved to the river proper. I hooked into a monster crappie, probably the biggest I will ever have on my line. I was fishing one of Skid's fuzzle buggers on a metal leader. I was using an 8 WT rod, and this crappie put a decent bend in it. The fly was barbless, and I had the fish at my feet, but I slack lined him, and he came off. No other action all day.
This afternoon, I'm going to target walleye in a much closer river. The spawn is really active now, I hear.
