I just planted corn today in a raised bed and used a good amount of compost i had been working on for a while. Lots of kitchen scraps including coffee grounds and some wood ash. I also put in some grass clippings and leaves from my backyard tree that i left to rot in a pile (separate from my garden compost bin) for 5 months.
The thing is I just found out the tree I got the leaves from is a salt cedar. Had no idea. Is my new raised bed fucked? I read they can excrete salt and fuck up soil?? The stuff I added to my kitchen compost pile seemed pretty broken down and earthy.
