Here's my main kit.
-bic lighters. Pulled one out of a pull after being in there all night. Blew the top dry and it worked. Bics for life.
-tons of matches in waterproof container.
-mini fire starter blocks. I shave them into little pieces, and they can be lit with ferro rods, and will get the kindling going right away.
-magnesium rod with ferro rod built on, and wood handle. Floats. Can even shave off wood handle for emergency kindling.
-back up ferro rod
-aluminum pencil sharpener, for making great tinder.
