I've got a few backpacks for everyday life, but nothing to get /out/ with. Seeing as I want to start going on proper overnight hiking trips I recently picked up a pack
From the previous thread I was going to get an Osprey Krestel 48 - but with 3rd year of my undergrad just coming to an end I have pretty much no money to spend on a pack so I went on ebay and managed to cop this for $40
Black Wolf Glacier Bay 65. Seems plenty big enough and durable to meet my needs.
What would be handy is to know how best to pack a hiking pack regarding weight distribution?
Also, where are the bottom straps meant to sit. They sit on my waist currently (across stomach - above hips) but it feels awkward and like they should be on my hips rather.
