>>1414347How do I get stuff to grow here? It's laid fallow for at least 12 years. The only thing I've gotten to grow here is winter rye. Nothing else takes. It's the piedmont area, lots of sand, some clay deep down. I would like to grow some medicinal herbs but it's like it just sucks the life out of any but the hardiest plants.
I got the soil tested and amended it to make it less acidic a couple years ago. It was mulched last year. Still nothing. Below this bed are some elderberries that are doing great I expect big things for next year's harvest.
