If you stop being a Jew and shell out a little extra cash for something higher quality, you'll end up spending less money in the future on replacements. A good pack doesn't need to break the bank either; $75 can get you a solid pack that won't fall apart after a year.
If you can't afford anything above $25, set a bit of cash aside after each paycheck until you can.
Another inexpensive option would be to make your own pack, although that requires some proficiency in sewing, some equipment, and time.
