>>1586004You have to accept the fact that existing is inherently an imposition onto every living thing around you. In a world of finite resources, if you are using something or eating something, another living thing can't, and it very well might die. In fact most animal populations (especially faster breeding animals) live pretty close to the limit of their food resources, so eating something means something else is dying. Even if you went vegetarian, you couldn't escape killing; most of farming outside of planting and harvesting is killing things that want to eat your crops. And as it is, you probably aren't a vegetarian, so all you are doing is avoiding facing reality for yourself by outsourcing killing to someone else... and the animals they kill aren't exactly living their best life. Idk, if I were an animal I'd rather be randomly shot while munching on some grass then live in some high density animal warehouse my whole life. You are already killing to eat, you should face reality instead of shying away from it.
It really doesn't help that Abrahamic faiths and cultures kinda sweep the issue of killing animals under the rug. "Lol god said you own all the animals, do whatever you want to them" is more of a cope than a good moral reasoning or justification. Maybe try looking into other belief systems and cultures and see if anything there resonates with you in terms of dealing with life and death and killing for food.
