Yesterday's catch 4 Cabezon, and 2 Kelp Greenlings, all caught using a Texas rig, with a 1oz egg sinker, red bead, 3-0 ewg superline hook, with a berkeley gulp grub, in Salmon Red, penny color, orange and chartreuse colorways. I had the grub rigged weedless and I would cast out as far as I could then slow retrieve back, occasionally jigging it. I lost a nice blue rockfish bringing the fish up the cliff and I missed a huge strike. The big strike hit harder than anything I have pulled up before and it felt heavy and fought hard for a few seconds then nothing. What ever it was took the grub and I couldn't get it to bite again.
