>>1813598You're right anon, it does get so boring.
Just hiked up to a spot in the Catskills a few weeks ago.
I'd waded into a spot with my buddy for a good half hour, and a guy is already fishing there. Right in the spot i wanted to try.
He invites us over, and we strike up a conversation, but it's getting dark, we've had trout rising in front of us, and noone can get them to take anything.
He leaves and it gets really dark, and like clockwork, at least 10 trout move right into the shadows, some not five feet away from me.
You can only see them sipping spinners, small dead and dying flies, off the surface where the moonlight comes through the trees.
Every cast, you're hoping not to put a hook in yourself or a tree.
I cast out the first fly I'd ever tied, just for this situation, and let it drift to about where the trout was.
I saw it's head come up and the water wake, and my heart was pounding in my chest as I set the hook.
The line tightened, my rod bent, and that fish started shaking his head.
He put up a good fight and i needed help netting him, but we got him back in the water where he can stay and haunt me all of the days I go there and catch nothing.
Even just catching sunnies is exciting if you invest a little bit of your time to enjoy it.
