For two mountaineers or four backpackers
One box "deluxe" mac and cheese (the kind with the pouch of "cheese sauce" that doesn't need milk or butter)
One pack oriental ramen (or your favorite, the spicy ones are okay with the chicken)
One pouch of tuna or chicken
Make the mac and cheese, boil the ramen for the last minute. Add "cheese sauce" tuna/chicken and ramen seasoning. It's pretty tasty for trail food and has tons of carbs, protein, and sodium. Add some extra cheese for extra fat. Cheese will keep well (at least a week) in the mountains as long as you don't touch the actual cheese, just handle it by the wrapper and keep the whole thing in a ziploc.
