>>496371Op, Estwing makes great budget tools that stand the test of time. They're not old-world OR tacticool, they're just a working man's tool, and the won't let you down.
That being said, they're no Granfors. They're heavy, and require bit of sharpening when you get them. Your picrelated is 68.8 oz man, plus it's a bit big to strap to a pack, doable though. If you want an Estwing, I suggest the shorter Camper's Axe or the Sportsmans Axe (hatchet). I own those too, and both have served me well for 4 years strong now. Good tools, and will outlive me.
Recently I picked up a Cold Steel Pipe Hawk, I plan varnishing the hickory, the edge didn't need too much work actually, I just filed it for a bit, then used a lansky puck for about 10 minutes. Paper cutter now. I'll see how useful it is to me.
