>>200931I was out digging more potatoes today. I only finished off this one row. It was a 29 pound haul of Yukon Gold. The chickens were so eager to get to the fresh tilled soil that they'd have their heads under the garden fork before I had the clod of dirt out of the ground.
Judging by what I already pulled out of this potato patch, I should get somewhere around 116 pounds of potatoes. This is my second potato patch. I'll have about 250-260 pounds of Yukon Gold potatoes harvested this year. I started them with 90lbs of potatoes. I let them sprout eyes, cut the eyes out, canned the rest of the potato after the eyes were cut out, and planted them. So, there was little to no waste at all when planting.
I also got most of my corn shelled today. Around 5lbs of popcorn and 8.5lbs of flint corn. There's still a lot of popcorn to shell though.
