Potato towers simply don't work. Even if some plants will manage to survive, you won't get more potatoes than normal: potato yield is primarily limited by foliage area, not by the amount of soil above the seed tuber.

Once you add a mosquito mesh, tarp, underquilt, etc it turns out to be as heavy or heavier than sleeping on the ground.
>tarps are lighter than tents
Put your tarp in your fav enclosed configuration. Cut off excess material and sew holes. It's a tent! And it's obviously lighter than a tarp you started with.
