>>1886369>Sat go on 15 mile trail run deep in Wild Sky Wilderness in Snoqualmie >grueling switchbacks for first 3 miles, light drizzle. Fueled by 3 fat homemade burritos the night before and a doubleshot of pre-workout. attacking the goddamn trail at a fierce pace.>When I get to the top of the ridge I am in a trance, all I can hear is my heart beating and the rhythmic squishyness of my shoes biting into the mud, the flutter of birds escaping from the underbrush.>something catches my eye as I come round the bend and it quickly ducks out of site. At first I thought it was a lady, no a deer. A lady with horns, wtf. >Just my mind playing tricks, on edge because read too much about bears on the ridge. I have bear spray, but still edgy.>keep going, the Smoke from the fires is all gone and I am running through clouds along the trail. It smells sweet from a the blueberries along the trail. Can not get the thought of the horned woman out of my head, no longer edgy get that sweet high.>gloriously bound back down the ridge without a care, image of this horned godess smiling stuck in my minds eye.I never heard of a horned Goddess(Elk, or deer, not cow) and looked it up. Seems like Elen of the ways blessed my run. Not sure why she would he hanging out on an obscure trail in the middle of WA, but can't think of anything else that would fit. Maybe my pre workout had some error mold...pic is from the ridge
