Alright, flower grafting guy from the last thread here, got my test subjects in order and am going to throw stuff at the wall until something sticks.
Got a Wakaebisu Azalea bush and a fig tree from a local plant nursery (The fig looked like the best candidate out of the fruit trees they had)
Helping me are my 2 cockatiels since our dog brought fleas into my brother's room so it's being bug-bombed at the moment.
I'll document this process somewhat because I think it's really interesting
