Also in other news, based on recommendations in this thread I ordered Mac Baren's Vintage Syrian and tried to order Three Nuns but they were out of the tinned version. So i ordered Sam Gawith's No 4 Brown Twist instead.
All I can say is that the Vintage Syrian has been on of the nicest smokes I've had in years (including some very nice cigars), it went from smokey campfire, to slightly perfumey wood on one relight and then slightly fruity on another relight through a few other flavours I can't place but retaining that smokey note throughout. Smoked it in a turkish meerschaum and it stayed remarkably cool throughout, even when smoking it to the bottom of the bowl. Really looking forward to the next bowl.
