>>1789003Absolutely. I do BJJ. One of our old coaches/fighters was the strongest person I have ever grappled (everyone says the same thing). He fought in the UFC and I think was ranked #1 in the US in greco at one point. He never lifted. He grew up on a hog farm and did alot of manual labor.
The last time he fought I remember overhearing the most bizarre conversation with him and some of the other coaches. At that point he was working chopping trees down. He told the other coaches he thought he could have been stronger for that fight. How? He's already the strongest fucking person anyone has ever grappled. He doesn't lift, what the fuck does that mean? Does that mean he thinks he should have chopped more tree down before the fight?
Apparently he did the Trials for ADCC and nearly ripped the arm off of another high profile coach who prides himself on his "technique". The guy was so distraught be this force of nature, this absurdly strong person the likes of which he has never experienced before - that he sat on the side with his head in his lap not moving for an hour after the match. Apparently he now pretends not to remember the match/that it never happened.
The kind of strength this guy has was bizarre - it was like some strange form of isometric strength. He was unmovable. Normally in high level wrestling rooms they don't let your wrestle people above your weight class for fear of injury. He was the only one they made wrestle heavier people.
