I'm thinking about buying some super cheap desert land in bumfuck nowhere like north Nevada or south texas. You can get this stuff for less than $500 per acre. I'm thinking at least 40 acres.
It's flat, dry, alternately very hot and very cold, and near nothing of interest. But you can often get a parcel bordering BLM land, or down near Big Bend in Texas.
I'd like to have it for /out/ shit, hunting, and maybe build a cabin or do some "greening the desert" permaculture stuff. I'd be satisfied with just a primitive refuge from modern life.
Is this a good idea, or totally retarded?
