>>2286030you get what you pay for when it comes to hammock camping. If you buy the cheapest 9ft eno or chinese no name parachute hammock with no bugnet your going to have a bad time and be cold and uncomfy. Back in my boy scouting days we used 3 man tents with two people and while tent camping has its uses and niches I prefer hammock camping now since I am older and it is infinitely more comfortable than sleeping on the ground imo so long as you are not a belly sleeper. Mostly IMO the biggest thing about hammocks over tents is it opens up the campsite possibilities more so than with a tent IE you can hitch up to two trees on a steep hillside vs you cant pitch a tent on a steep hillside. Second being the AC like effect of the wind & conduction on you when in the hammock is something I have yet to replicate with a tent and it makes camping during peak/high summer tolerable. Third at least in my situation my hammock and all the gear I need to use it are slightly less bulky than a two person tent and weights less. If you want a brand recommendation OP you cant go wrong with any of the cottage makers such as warbonnet, hennessey, or dutch.
