i've not done it personally but my buddy lou has. it's allegedly like targeting more agressive carp. they'll eat small minnows and crawdads, along with plenty of other shit. just use the same flies and gear you would for carp and you should be fine.

but crayfish flies, large nymphs, wooly buggers, just about anything that can be fished slowly on the bottom should work.

oh thats just some random bluegill pattern i freestyled for some summer bass. i got dozens of follows with it but no commitment. as for clousers, i have plenty of them. i even tie one with the back fur with rubberlegs for carp, it's a variant i call "the backwards bug" because i tied it to look like a carp fly

basically just a rubberlegs clouser tied with the fur from the middle of the buck tail instead of the coloured edges. different colour bucktail also have different coloured middle fur, yellow gets you an almost olive colour, for example.

fly fishing is absolutely welcome here
i've only ever fished the salt twice and didnt get anything either time, but those flies look like they should be fine for the flats.
