I'm doing this to help landowners achieve their habitat goals. They want some of these animals gone in order to increase populations of some of the other species like deer and turkey.
I don't derive pleasure strictly from killing the animal. I do however enjoy the entire trapping process. From scouting a location the actually place the trap, to setting them, checking the traps, skinning, fleshing, and tanning. I think some of you believe I'm just trapping the animal, killing it, then throwing the carcass out. It's just simply not the case. Each catch in the long run ends up taking 4-5hrs of work. So as you see it's not strictly about the catch of killing, it's about the journey. I don't expect you to understand, just like I will never understand why you and those like you feel the need to come into these threads when you have no interest in trapping.
I'm heading out to check my traps soon so hopefully I'll have catches to post as well.
