>>1935060Inga is a really dominant dog and has been no picnic. She's malinois levels of willful and handler aggressive. It took me awhile to learn to properly project calm to her and learn when not to fuss with her. We'd be playing impulse control games and she'd climb right up the leash at me out of frustration. She's 8 months old now though and she's become a lot more agreeable in the past month or two. Before that it really felt like she only used her smarts to fuck with me. I did 8 sessions with a former k9 trainer as well. I'd never raised a working line dog before and it's taken me awhile to kind of figure out how to teach her and handle her but I think we're definitely beginning to understand each other and she's really surprised me with how much she's earned my respect. I love her intensely and I know she wouldn't hesitate to protect anyone in my household.
From what I hear swiss shepherds are much mellower. Swiss or German though, they're awe inspiring dogs in motion and intensely loyal.
