I'm in Zone 5. I started indoors in winter with seeds, put them in polytunnels later in the winter then uncovered them in spring. All the other gardens in the local area are just getting started. I even received a "what to plant now" email alert telling me to plant everything in open ground like 4 days ago. For me, the year is half over. For everyone else here, it is just getting started. I'm mean, the other gardeners in this area have plants that are only 4-6 inches tall right now. There's only one guy who had potatoes in the ground very early and those bloomed like 2-3 weeks after mine did.
Yet, I still feel like I'm behind in schedule. Here are what things look like now. Some of the tomato plants are at the 5 feet tall mark already. I've been eating peppers for like over a month now and this week I had my first squash and zucchini. Every year seems to get better and better despite some drawbacks and bad weather early on.
