>>2012950I do have a router, and did make one with arcs and it made the baseplate quite flexy, as well as much easier for the washers to bed themselves deep into the wood and disrupt the structural integrity of the plate. Individual holes distribute pressure far better, and they are drilled in such a way that the volumes can be rotated by about 10 degrees at a time and always hit a hole either vertically or diagonally on each half of the plate.
