>>341951If you have the money and want a REALLY good return on investment, buy 'tomato teepees'. I bought them over 10 years ago and most, if not all of them still hold up and work.
The way they work is they have 18 'pockets' or columns of water and each one needs to be filled from the top with water so you can adjust if you want it opened or closed to ward off winter, pests, weather, etc. During the day, the sun's rays penetrates the columns of water heating them up. At night, the infrared radiation gets released and used by the plant as well as the added heat during frosts, cold nights, or extreme weather to keep the plant in a common/controlled environment. Over time, stuff has chewed holes in a few of the pockets, some closer to the top, some much lower but even with 4-6 'bad' columns, the other ones are still good and the teepee still works and does its job. If you live anywhere else other than the west coast (since the weather is almost always mild even in winter(, I'd strongly recommend buying these. They also are about 1.5 feet tall so it stops ground pests from messing with the stem or lower portions of the plant
