and him running off is probably more determined by his breed like many hunting breeds like to roam and explore and that comes down to their prey drive not wanting to fuck female dogs
You cant say on one hand well hey just neuter your dog it will stop it from running away and then say nah neutering a dog won't make it lazy or have other effects.
