One book I would recommend though is "Wounds and Lacerations: Emergency Care and Closure." That will cover basics of overall wound management.
It's a lot more simple than people think because 99% of the time only one technique (simple interrupted) and one type of suture (4-0 or 3-0 absorbable vicryl) material is needed.
