I live in Sweden, every town has something called a "light trail" which is basically a long gravel road that goes in a circle, deep into the forest with electric lamp posts lighting it up during the night. In the winter people use them to practice "long skiing" and in the warmer periods people use them to run or bike, or take walks. I was out running in my local light trail and it was getting dark, it was summer though so it never really got DARK. After taking a pause and walking for a while I spotted a wolf on the trail ahead of me, looking towards me, turning his head as if he was looking "back" at me. Wolves are more afraid of us than we are of them, we learn this as kids all of the time and there has seldomly been a wolf attack. I think there was one reported incident in Sweden a long time ago when a wolf has attacked a human (they often attack dogs though). So, I just raised my arms and shouted "HÖÖÖÖJ, HÖÖÖÖJ", walking aggressively towards it. I picked up and started running yelling "HÖÖJ-ÖÖÖÖJ" and it ran away.
Moose are more dangerous.
