>>453335The point here, is that you don't need large wood at all to make any kind of fire if you are using a rocket stove. Packing in 1lbs/0.45kg of fuel is super easy to do. A lot of anons do this for their gas cooking stoves and many of those fuel tanks weigh over 1lbs/0.45kg.
Since the rocket stove only uses tiny amounts of thin fuel it can be used to quickly dry out additional fuel on site. So, you can bring in a bit of twigs with you to dry out more twigs that are rain soaked.
If you don't have a rocket stove, you can simply make a Dakota fire hole on site to do the same thing. No need for batoning like a moron.
