Trapping and fishing is the way to go. Way cheaper, way easier, no stupid regulations if a landowner gives you permission (unless you are trapping furbearers) and you should be able to have fresh meat everyday. 9/10 I catch something within the first few days of setting a trap. You can set a dozen on different trails and you’ll have food for days. Set lines on public waters is great too. Just throw lines out and come back in the morning to a bunch of fish. Hunting is overrated af, trapping is where it’s at.
