I've always been oddly obsessed with Fjords and valleys. It's been an ongoing fantasy of mine to live in a big, steep valley with a river running through it. It seems so bizarrely safe and isolated, as if you'd only ever be visited by people who are really dedicated to finding you. Are there any spots like that in Appalachia? I'm aware of the Great Appalachian Valley, however it seems rather shallow and tame, at least compared to what I'm thinking.
