I just don't get it.
A lot of people go out to escape 'the evilll society and noise mannn gotta get away from the city'.
Yet they spend all this excessive money on gear focused on weight rather than enjoyment/usability.
So you're proud and pumped up your consumerism of expensive gear. And you get /out/ and slightly hamper your experience with minimalism.
The thing is most of the 'lightweight' gear is less actual material/product. And you're being charged some high premium for it, when the producer often buys materials in bulk and negates the additional costs.
I'd rather carry a heavier shelter, sleeping bag and mat for the sake of comfort rather than so sleek and lite weight.
That picture of the guy in the quilt+jacket, the tiny stove and transparent tarp always sums it up for me.
Food is always going to be heavy, you just can't save weight with it.
The weight from my non titanium cookware is negligible.
I just believe in striking a good balance between sensible weight(not coleman stove+cast iron man) and price.
