I've also heard that ticks are susceptible to a stove top?
One summer, my brother and I were camping and hiking every weekend and our combined total was 7 ticks that we pulled out of clothes by the end of the season.
I guess what I'd say is check yourself before you're done hiking / get in your car/ before you go to bed. Do it, do it regularly. If you're hiking with a friend ask for a tick check. Pack off, lift up your arms, twist slowly around and have them look at your back, ass, arm pits and clothes folds.
Also, I've seen people on here a couple times say shit like "THROW EM IN THE TOILET!".
/b/ro, put them in a bottle and store them for the rest of the season in case you come down with something a couple weeks or months later. Not unlike you bringing an animal in after it bites you so they can check IT for rabies before administering expensive / painful shots into your guts.
Had a friend get Rocky Mountain Spotted fever and only managed to get diagnosed for a week later because a traveling specialist happened to be in the hospital that day.
If a Doctor/MedicalAnon has better advice, I'd like to hear it, but I'm pretty sure the tests on you/ the tick are cheaper then other things.
