>>369636Have any of you dudes actually checked to see if these claimed disappearances are supported by local newspapers/recorded somewhere? Aren't there databases where disappearances are recorded? That video's claiming that PA is a hotbed for his claims. I've been going outdoors in PA since I was 4, by the time I was 11 I was going out and camping alone in the woods. I've seen creepy shit but never, not once, something that would make me believe in the supernatural.
I think the modern myths surrounding the woods are mostly due to city/suburban folk who go /out/ into these very atmospheric, unfamiliar places and then get disconcerting vibes and attribute it to something unnatural.
Seriously, I've been /out/ all over North America, for a good 19 years. I've spent 5 straight weeks in the northern Canadian wilderness, 2 in the mountains in Colorado, and 1 in the desert in New Mexico, along with countless trips into the woods/extended stays in rural areas of PA, NY state and Jersey. Never seen a ghost. Never seen a skinwalker. Never encountered a murder hobo. Never felt threatened by anything unnatural.
I'm not saying there aren't cults or murderous hermits somewhere in the wilderness, but they are very, very far between and hundreds of people spend their lives outdoors and never encounter these things. As for the supernatural, I'm not being condescending, just entirely skeptical. These are good stories, but come on guys.
