>>1296441Lyme disease is no joke. And don't let doctors or veterinarians tell you otherwise.
My perfectly healthy 8 year old lab got a tick on her. I checked her regularly and almost always got them the same day.
I miss one. So I take her to the vet. Vet takes the tick out himself, wipes some alcohol on the site and calls it a day.
Fast forward a year. Dog is behaving oddly. Not herself. Lethargic. Blood test time.
Uhuh. Your dog has Lyme Disease. Wtf.
Vet: it's not a big deal. Her body and immune system will cope with it. It's like you or I getting the flu
A year later my dogs kidneys shut down. Had to put her to sleep.
Vet when I rip into him: well the scientific literature is starting to support that Lyme Disease is a bigger deal for dogs than we thought. Maybe this case validates that.
Motherfucker.
Will never forgive those fucking slack vets. And I don't take any shit from my current vet about it even though I now live 4000km away from where this happened.
Make no mistake, anons. Lyme disease is a life altering illness that you Do Not Want To Have.
Pic related. RIP Rose. Best dog ever. Except for that time she leapt from my moving car to chase goats on the roadside.
