Wouldn't it be better to create a strong social network, people that are capable and you know that you can rely on them than all this gear faggotry and educating yourself on scenarios that will likely never happen.
In short: I believe keeping yourself fit and healthy, having a strong social network you can rely on and some savings will account for more than buying overpriced gear, bunkering yourself in or learning how to live like a hobo in the woods.
