If snow has fallen, then there is some plants that can be found, but they are hard to use in this late of the year. Fishing is possible, as there is like dozens of lakes and rivers in my route. This is really the hardest time of the year to live off the land.
My sleeping bag is rated comfort -15, so if temperature falls below that I sleep with clothes on or make log fire.
As a finn I always have my puukko in forest.
