>>1000875The second pic I think is a moccasin. It's hard to tell from the picture but it looks like it has the dark bar through the eyes like pic related.
You can also tell them apart from water snakes pretty easily by looking at the eyes in general. If it's got a vertical pupil like a cat it's a moccasin. Most if not all water snakes have rounded pupils. Moccasins also have a second "nostril" which is actually the a heat-sensing organ called a pit (circled on pic related). Almost all of the venomous snakes (except coral snakes) in North America are pit vipers and will have that.
