A friend of a friend has a Marlin .444 that's he's gotten all kinda deer with over the years using run-of-the-mill Remington green box ammo but for some reason, two years ago he got a bug up his ass about this supposed gee-wiz new ammo.
He bought a few boxes (at $60 for 20rds!) and couldn't put 3-shots in a paper plate at 100 yards, with the shit key-holing all over the place.
Meanwhile, I've got a Marlin M1895G topped with a (Japanese) 5x Redfield Widefield in .45-70 and with 300gr Remington green box ammo, (the cheapest .45-70 ammo around, though at $40+ per box, that's kinda relative...) I can shoot one-hole groups at 100 yards all day long.
