American Tactical International Thunderbolt in 45ACP and Bought it for $735.00 USD
This was the first pistol I bough in 2010. And after a little modification it suits my needs perfectly and for the price not too bad for something that tactical. I changed the wood grips for the Hogue Tactical gun metal gray grips and it looks great and holds in my hand perfectly. I have carried it every hunting trip since.
My Pros:
> recoil is less than my Glock 17
> based on the 80's Series Colts
> Adjustable sights
> Night Sights
> Picatinny Rail
> Extended Slide Release
> Ambidextrous Thumb Safety
> 2 inch groups at 20 yards
My Cons:
> She's a heavy set women for a 1911
> The thumb safety works like a sonofabitch when the grips are on too tight.
> The screws for the adjustable rear sights loosen after firing and need to be retightened every time
> comes with cheap ass wood grips
I have had to use it once while camping in West Texas
> around 4 PM
> starting to cook dinner
> just put on the baked beans when I hear snorting and grunting
> A Feral Hog jumps out of the brush
> try to scare the pig away by making myself look bigger than he is
> it's not working
> draw my 1911
> pig charges
> I fire one round and the pig drops 3 yards from me
> I put 2 more slugs in it just for good measure
> Cut the ribs out of him
> leave the rest for the coyotes
> ate like king from the flesh of my enemy
