However, being a small permaculture farmer with only 25 apple trees, I get to sell my apples for $2 a pound and the apple block is manageable with only one or two people, from all tasks: pruning/thinning/weedwhacking and picking.

>>2066530 suggests. Also go to your local farmer's market and find a farm you like, express interest in learning and ask if the farmer needs help (he does). Don't worry about your own farm, just make mistakes on someone elses dime first.
