I really wanted to get at least one fruit from them so I could try again next year now that I've built my trellis. A nice greek lady gave me two of her gigantic winter squash last year and when we broke open the last one earlier this year. The seeds sprouted and I was all gung-ho about growing my own.
They were smuggled into the US from Greece, so I can't just let them fizzle out. My pride is wrapped up in this of course, because I can get more from her.
