Dumpstering college towns in the area of the dorms is the best way to find "stuff" if you're looking for random cool shit. Appliances, clothes, furniture, pantry food items. When people move they often throw out all the food in the pantry regardless of if it's good or not.
Anywhere that makes food every day like a convenience store or starbucks probably throws the unsold and soon to be expired food out at the end of the day.
